    Two Tenure-track Faculty Positions in OB/HR at Florida State University

    The Department of Management at Florida State University will fill two tenure-track faculty positions in Organizational Behavior (OB) and Human Resources (HR) at the Assistant Professor level. Both positions will start in August 2022. An earned doctorate is required by the Summer of 2022.


    The position carries a 2/2 teaching load, with a 1-course release for the first three years. Courses in the Management Department’s curriculum include undergraduate OB (e.g., OB, Leadership, or Cross-cultural management) and HR (e.g., Staffing, Compensation, or Training and Development) topics, as well as graduate offerings (MBA and Ph.D.)

    Candidates must demonstrate an interest in and a capacity for conducting high-quality scholarly research. Engagement with our highly-regarded Ph.D. program is expected. In recent years, our graduates placed at reputable peer institutions, such as Auburn University, the University of Arkansas, Baylor University, Iowa State University, Michigan State University, Northeastern University, Mississippi State University, Kennesaw State University, the University of Tennessee, the University of North Texas, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and the University of Utah.

    Minimal service activity is expected during the initial years of appointment.


    A doctorate from an accredited institution in an area of specialization consistent with OB and HR is required. Evidence of research publications and work in progress is expected. Experience teaching course(s) in online and traditional formats is preferred.

    Department Information

    The Department of Management has eleven full-time tenure-track faculty members in two general categories: Organizational Behavior/Human Resource Management (Shanna Daniels, Jack Fiorito, Wayne Hochwarter, Sam Kang, Samantha Paustian-Underdahl, and Gang Wang) and Strategic Management (Michael Holmes, David King, Bruce Lamont, David Maslach, andHoracio Rousseau). 

    Bruce Lamont is the current Department Chair, while Darren Brooks serves as the Associate Department Chair.

    The College of Business at The University of Alabama in Huntsville invites applications for a full-time, renewable non-tenure track Clinical Assistant Professor in Management. A PhD in Management or a closely related discipline is required. A PhD from an AACSB accredited institution is preferred.

    Candidates must have and maintain scholarly or professional activities sufficient to meet the college’s AACSB qualification standards to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Management for programs such as our BSBA, MBA, and other master’s and certificate programs in the college.  Candidates will also have a commitment to excellence in graduate and undergraduate education. We prefer candidates with experience teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, experience and evidence of an ability to build relationships with business or government agencies, and eligibility to hold U.S. security clearance.

    Hello MFCA Family,

    Catrina, a member of MDSA and doctoral candidate at Rutgers Business School, is collecting data for her dissertation. She is studying the development, transformation, and ending, if relevant, of advising relationships in academe.

    Participation in this study involves completing an online survey. The survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete and will ask about your relationship with your former dissertation advisor such as performance, access to developmental opportunities, feedback, and current relationship status. Your former advisor/dissertation chair will also be encouraged to participate in the survey. Your response will not be shared with your former dissertation advisor, nor will your former advisor know whether you chose to participate in the study or not.

    Eligibility requires the following:
    1) Completion of management (or management related) doctoral degree from a U.S. institution within the last 5 to 6 years, and
    2) Actively serving as a junior faculty member in a management field at a U.S. institution.
